The Feature

Not a blade of grass in sight.

Better Homes & Gardens devoted a special issue to succulents, and its Simplicity by Design feature belongs to Laura. The magazine put it plainly: San Diego designer Laura Eubanks creates drought-tolerant yet lush yards without a single blade of grass in sight.

The spread, written and produced by garden author Debra Lee Baldwin with photography by Ed Gohlich, opens on Laura's signature move: ribbons of pale pebble winding through dark lava rock, anchoring golden barrel cactus so the whole bed reads from across the yard. It is the same rockwork and planting you will find in every garden in our portfolio.
